The ninth article of our series on “Big Data & Issues & Opportunities” examines the aspects related to copyright, database rights and trade secrets. More particularly, it determines to what extent protection mechanisms under such intellectual property rights can apply to elements of the big data lifecycle, such as individual pieces of data or entire datasets.
